Set the table for a wonderful dining experience with tabletop presentations that complement the ambiance of your restaurant and optimize your return on investment. Here’s a list of table setting guidelines and basics for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner.

Breakfast

  • Flatware: Dinner fork, dinner knife, Tea spoon
  • Dinnerware: Two bread and butter plates, dinner plate, cup and saucer
  • Drink ware: Water glass, juice glass

Lunch

  • Flatware: Salad fork, dinner fork, dessert or dinner knife, teaspoon
  • Dinnerware: Bread and butter plate, luncheon plate
  • Drink ware: Water glass, wine glass

Banquet or Brunch

  • Flatware: Salad fork, dinner fork, dinner knife, teaspoon
  • Dinnerware: Bread and butter plate, salad plate, dinner plate, cup and saucer
  • Drink ware: Water glass or water goblet, wine glass

Dinner

  • Flatware: Salad fork, dinner fork, dinner knife, teaspoon, butter knife
  • Dinnerware: Bread and butter plate, salad plate, dinner plate
  • Drink ware: Water goblet, wine glass

European

  • Flatware: European size dinner fork, U.S. size dinner fork, European size dinner knife, dessert knife, oval bowl soup/dessert spoon or dinner spoon, European size teaspoon, butter knife, fish knife, fish fork
  • Dinnerware: Bread and butter plate, salad plate, service plate
  • Drink ware: Water goblet, champagne flute, two wine glasses

Formal Dinner

  • Flatware: Salad fork, dinner fork, dinner knife, oval bowl soup/dessert spoon or dinner spoon, teaspoon, butter knife
  • Dinnerware: Bread and butter plate, two salad plates, service plate, cup and saucer
  • Drink ware: Water goblet, champagne flute, wine glass

Tips

  • Allow 24 inches for each piece setting
  • Keep tableware 1 inch from the edge if table
  • Place knives with cutting edge toward the plate. setting. of the table.
  • Arrange flatware in order of use. Glass placement, right to left: white wine, red wine, champagne behind glasses and water.
